The "Providing Emergency Child Protection and MHPSS Support to Families Affected by the Earthquake in Southern Turkey" project in Hatay province aims to re-empower children, adolescents and families in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment following the disaster. The project contributes to the community recovery process through multidimensional activities in the areas of education, child protection and psychosocial support (MHPSS).

The project is organized around three key result areas:

1. Strengthening Access to and Participation in Education Services

The main objective of this component is to increase access to quality education services for girls and boys affected by the crisis, economic vulnerability and food insecurity.
In this context;

  • Student sets of school supplies for students,
  • Teacher support kits for teachers,

2. Supporting Quality and Inclusive Learning Environments

In the project, various training and capacity building activities were carried out to ensure that teachers can effectively convey content that supports children's academic, social and emotional development.
In this direction;

  • Children to Social and Emotional Learning activities,
  • Study and homework support programs,
  • Turkish language support to work,
  • Information sessions on education and career paths,
  • Remedial and remedial classes,

3. Psycho-Social Support and Strengthening Mental Health

Creating safe spaces and supportive community structures for children, adolescents and parents affected by the earthquake is one of the most important objectives of the project.
In this context;

  • Children and adolescents participated in Level 2 Psycho-Social Support (MHPSS) activities,
  • Adolescent groups received more intensive individual and group-based support through Level 3 MHPSS activities,

This project aims to empower children in terms of education, psychological resilience and social cohesion during the post-earthquake recovery process in Hatay, and contributes to the formation of a more protective, aware and resilient community structure with the active participation of families and teachers.

The "Providing Emergency Child Protection and MHPSS Support to Families Affected by the Earthquake in Southern Turkey" is not only an emergency response program, but also a long-term solidarity initiative that brings hope, confidence and stability to the future of children in the region.
