The overall objective of the Project is to contribute to the elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labor (ECLW) in line with the National Employment Strategy (2014-2023) and the National Program to Combat Child Labor (2017-2023). In this context, identification, referral (to education) and monitoring activities are carried out for children at risk, and awareness trainings are carried out for producers, families and children.

Various educational supports are provided for children to continue their education. Carried out in 6 provinces (Şanlıurfa, Ordu, Sakarya, Düzce, Giresun, Samsun), the project operates within the scope of non-formal education in Ordu, Sakarya, Düzce, Giresun, Samsun, while monitoring activities are carried out in Şanlıurfa. Within the scope of the activities that started in June 2021, 1456 children were identified and referred to non-formal education institutions.

All referred children received food support during their education, while 793 children benefited from the shuttle service. The trainings were also supported with stationery and hygiene kits. Awareness and information sessions organized for families, who are important actors in preventing child labor in seasonal agriculture, were attended by 695 family members. Child labor information sessions were held with 358 garden owners and 53 agricultural intermediaries as other important actors.

The "An Integrated Model for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour in Seasonal Agriculture in Hazelnut Harvesting in Türkiye", implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MoLSS) General Directorate of Labor and the International Labor Organization (ILO) Office in Turkey, funded by the European Chocolate, Biscuit and Confectionery Industry Organization (CAOBISCO) and of which we are the implementing partner, continues in 6 cities.
