Local Communities Support Grant Program Applications Opened

Within the scope of the "Improving the Wellbeing of Earthquake Affected Populations Project" implemented by Pikolo Association with the financial support of Save the Children International (SCI) Turkey Office, grant applications are now open for local communities and non-profit organizations operating or planning to operate in Hatay province.

Purpose of the Program

6 February 2023 to strengthen access to education, improve psychosocial well-being and support the resilience of local communities, especially children and youth, in Hatay province and its districts affected by the February 2023 earthquakes.

Activities to be Supported

Applications should focus on activities to be carried out within the scope of "Back to School".

Examples of projects that can be supported:

• Social, cultural, artistic and sportive activities
• Activities that encourage the active participation of children and young people
• Collective events such as workshops, mini concerts, station activities

Note: Advocacy, scholarship/cash support, building construction, political activities, land acquisition and activities that harm human/environmental health will not be supported.

Application Requirements

• Non-profit organizations or societies operating in Hatay province
• Local groups (NGO, community, neighborhood group, etc.) consisting of 5 people who are at least 18 years old
• Developing a project proposal to support children's return to school
• Projects that prioritize local solutions and will be carried out within the framework of accountability

Support Details

• Total Grant Amount: 680.000 TL
• Support per Organization/Group: 170.000 TL
• Support Rate: 100%
• Number of Support 4 local organizations/communities
• Application Duration: Maximum 3 months

Grant payments will not be transferred directly to the organizations, and expenditures will be made by Pikolo Association in line with the accepted project proposals.

Capacity Building

Eligible applicants will be invited to participate in Capacity Building Trainings prior to the grant.
